Note: A Mounted flannelboard is adhered to two sheets of heavy guage cardboard backing. The Large & Medium fold in half and the Small includes a cardboard tabletop stand that pops out of the back. Unmounted flannelboards are do-it-yourself, where you need to mount it with your own material or use it as a loose sheet of fabric.

What Backgrounds Do I Need?

For the Bible lessons we include the mounted versions of the Water/Sky, Indoor and Purple scene with the Deluxe Bible Set. So if you are looking at Bible stories those are the ones you need. Our new Prison scene is not included with the Deluxe Set but is an excellent addition. The overlays interface with the backgrounds to create many different scenes.

 

Here you see the Desert Overlay on top of the Water/Sky Background to create the appearance of a desert. To supplement the Deluxe Bible Set we also recommend the City Walls, Cobblestone, Cave Overlay and Vendors & Weapons.

For Educational and Play products you generally want to get a board that is larger than the product you are buying. Some products, however, come with their own backgrounds, i.e. Blackboard shapes and colors, Goldilocks, Medium Sea Life, Rainforest and others as well.

What Is Mounted and Unmounted?

When we say a background or feltboard is "mounted" it means that we have taken the printed felt and adhered it to heavy gauge corrugated cardboard with industrial adhesive and then mounted to an additional sheet of cardboard on the back. This provides additional strength and rigidity as well as to cover up the edges of the sheet of felt.

Unmounted is simply the sheet of felt packaged with instructions for mounting, it is a more economical method of buying your backgrounds. This is also the preferred way of purchasing backgrounds when shipping size is a concern, as with overseas customers.

Please note that all of the backgrounds in the Deluxe Bible Sets are mounted for your convenience.
